An image of Level 1,016 taken when the lights are at full brightness.
Level 1,016 with dimmed lights.
Description:
Level 1,016 appears as a set of corridors and rooms similar to an empty commercial building. The fluorescent lighting pulsates slowly, being fully bright at some times and gradually shifting to pitch darkness. Once the lights are completely off, they quickly revert back to their full brightness state.
Apart from the strange lighting effects, this Level has normal effects on sanity and is relatively safe to explore. Entities are uncommon, however one should still keep a light source on you just in case. The most common entities that are said to reside on this Level are Hellbounds, Ambassadors, and Pace Walkers.
Being one of the more safe Levels of Cluster II, Level 1,016 is one of the more well-documented ones. However, it is still not advised for long-term stay as the pulsating lights can easily drive one to madness. There are still groups that have managed to survive here, as they have adapted to the lighting effects, albeit of questionable sanity.
Vending machines occasionally appear, with a random assortment of food products, ranging from safe to completely inedible and unsanitary. They typically require some form of currency as input, so it is best not to waste your money unless you are willing to take that chance.
Below is a list of every recorded item that has been found in these vending machines:
- Expired bottles of Almond Water.
- Miscellaneous expired snacks and drinks with no other anomalous properties.
- Twin Fingers, typically in the more inedible flavors.
- A nutritional bar made out of mulch and dried berries.
- Packs containing dried meat of questionable quality and of unknown origin.
- Dried pieces of lettuce with slightly radioactive properties.
- Regular bottles of Cashew Water.
- A pack containing small pieces of soft concrete, labeled "Concrete Nuts".
Colonies and Outposts:
Unnamed Group
A group of 5 people who have adapted to the pulsating lighting, and live off the vending machines scattered across the level. They are malnutritioned and are presumably mentally unstable. Being unpredictable and untrustworthy, it is not advised to attempt to trade or go near them.
Entrances and Exits:
To enter, simply walk far enough in Level 1,015 until you find a set of glass double doors. To exit, find a staircase that looks like it should lead nowhere. Upon attempting to use this staircase, you will pass out and find yourself in Level 1,017. It is also said that finding a set of glass sliding doors will lead you to Level 1,008, however this is quite rare.
