A Hillside View of Level 302.
Level 302 is the 303rd Level in the Backrooms discovered in 2021 by 2 individuals of unknown origins found dead at an entrance.
Description
Level 302 is a coniferous forest surrounded by mountainous terrain on all sides labeled as “The Grand National Park” by the sign at the entrance from Level 101. Level 302 is well renowned for its vast quantities of wildlife and natural wonders including waterfalls, exotic creatures and unnatural features.
Properties
Climate
Level 302 experiences a locked climate, with a constant weather and temperature. Level 302 is a constant 27° Celsius (80° Fahrenheit) sea level and 15° Celsius (59° Fahrenheit) at its highest peak. Level 302 typically experiences clear weather aside from several clouds at all times.
Land Formations
Land Formations in Level 302 can wildly vary, and no data recovered from examinations and testing as concluded with consistent data. The following are notable observed cases of land formations:
The Main Lake aka “the Apýthmenos Sea”
The Apýthmenos Sea1 is the main feature of Level 302 and is located at the geometric center of Level 302. The Apýthmenos Sea is a lake approximately 300,000km2 (115,830 mi2) in area and over 200 km (124.27 mi) in depth, in comparison to the depth of Earth’s crust at 70 km (43.5 mi) in depth. The Apýthmenos Sea has an unusual scent, typically as alcohol (Specifically rum), as Ethyl Formate2 takes up approximately 28% of the composition of the water in the Apýthmenos Sea, however, this phenomenon is not observed anywhere else in Level 302.
Mountains
All mountains in Level 302 appear similar to the Alaskan Mountain, Mount McKinley3 and typically are found at the edges of Level 302. Mountains of Level 302 are typically composed of Silicon, Carbon, Potassium, Aluminium, Calcium, and lower concentrations of Iron, Magnesium, Plutonium, and even Oganesson. Aside from it’s composition, mountains in Level 302 are not anomalous.
Waterfalls
Waterfalls in Level 302 are near-identical to the mountains of Level 302 however, it is the ‘drop’ of the waterfall that sets these apart from mountains. Waterfalls are mountain-like land formations with at least one side with steepness at an angle of between 86° to 111° perpendicular to the ground. The waterfall is generally conquered by a lake or smaller body of water with a smaller stream flowing off the vertical edge of the waterfall. These lakes are composed, instead of salt water like the rest of the level, are composed of a mixture of acetone and citric acid.
Wildlife
Wildlife is the only form of “entity” on Level 302 and are indigenous to the level. Most species in Level 302 are considered endangered as there are no other levels in the Backrooms that supports the wildlife in Level 302. Currently, there are 73 separate species of Wildlife in Level 302. The following are notable instances of wildlife in Level 302.
Species 001 - Trees of Fertility
Risk Class: GREEN
Species 001 is the dominant species in Level 302. Species 001 specimens appear as coniferous trees genetically identical to coniferous trees of Frontrooms origin. Specimens are observed to be 100x more fertile than it’s original counterparts, this can lead to overcrowding in dense fertility regions.
Species 017 - Phoenix
Risk Class: RED
Species 017 specimens take on the appearance of a bald eagle composed of fire. Species 017 instances are typically 14.2 metres (46.58 feet) in height, 32.8 metres (107.6 feet) in wingspan and 30 tonnes in mass. Species 017 are generally hostile to foreign beings in Level 302 as Species 017 has been observed incinerating newcomers to Level 302 in its field of sight if perceived as a threat. When concerning M.E.G. Members and long-term wanderers, 017 typically ignores the subject or aids them in combat with a possible rival.
Species 035 - State Shifter
Risk Class: GREEN
Species 035 in their base form is described as a female of American origin in their late-teens with a blue eye color and black hair color with average 1990’s attire. Species 035 instances are composed of Tellurium (Te), Tungsten (W) and lower concentrations of Iron (Fe), Water (H2O) and Mercury (Hg). Species 035 instances have the ability to transit into different states of material including solid, liquid, gas, plasma, quark-gluon plasma, semi-solid and Bose-Einstein condensate without increasing their body temperature. Species 035 instances are typically cordial with both indigenous and foreign beings in Level 302.
Species 066 - Granted
Risk Class: AMBER
Species 066 appears as what is commercially referred to as a Magic 8-Ball with average size and mass to a non-anomalous Magic 8-Ball. Species 066 are typically mot referred to as an “animal” as it does not appear to obtain any functions performable by an animal, rather being considered a member of the kingdom “Plantae” as cells obtained from Species 066 specimens have resembled the appearance of Amazon Rosewood4 bark.
Whenever a specimen of 066 is jostled, it will glow a luminescent red however will not perform any additional function. When a specimen of 066 is jostled while an object is requested, 066 will begin vibrating and emitting a blue luminescent light as an object identical to the requested item will be created approximately 0.9 metres (2.9 feet) from the subject, seemingly out of thin air. It is currently unknown how 066 performs this as of the current day.
Discovery
In 2027, two corpses were found near Level 302’s entrance. DNA evidence of the two corpses revealed the age of both to be approximately 6 years. On one, was an instance of Species 066. On the other, was found with a leather-backed notebook, composed of their experiences in the Backrooms including their discovery of Level 302. The following is a remastered text of the log of Day 23, the day Level 302 was discovered.
Day 23
We stumbled upon a cave opening in Level 8 as people usually call it, but it wasn’t a normal one we would usually see on a regular occasion, it had a forest behind it along with several mountains in the far background. I notified █████ about the hole, but shrugged it off as “another gap”. I wanted to explore the area, so, curiosity got the better of me, and I started to dig at the bordering rock with a kitchen knife I found in Level 5 (weird, I know) and stopped when I could fit through the gap. █████ wondered when I had went to and realized. The Gap. He came through the gap behind me, and we noticed some strange stuff: a magical 8-ball, a firebird and a load of other stuff. And that leads up to now. We’ve set a tent near where we came in, and let’s hope this level is a safe one.
