Level 320 is the 321st level of The Backrooms.
Description
Level 320 appears to be a holiday-themed level. This special level takes on the appearance of a Christmas town. On this level, it is the permanent state of night with a sky that is devoid of stars. All the buildings on this level are decorated with Christmas lights and other Christmas decorations, such as Christmas wreaths and stockings hanging from the balcony. The Christmas lights can also be seen on the bushes and trees. The most common colors of these lights are red, blue, yellow, white, and green. Meanwhile, some rarer colors include orange, purple, and pink. The interior of the buildings is also decorated with Christmas decorations, such as Christmas trees, different ornaments, mistletoe, candles, and an advent wreath that is usually placed on the table in the dining room.
Cars are visible on the roads. These cars appear to be working, but they do not belong to anyone as the town is completely devoid of life, including entities. Meeting other wanderers here is extremely rare, as the town is extremely large, making it quite easy to get lost if you are in a group. As expected, on this level, it snows every 72 hours for around half the day. Despite this, no snow can be spotted on the roads at this level. This level is cold; the average temperature of this level is said to be around -5°C while it's not snowing and -10°C when it does. Luckily, one can find warm clothes inside houses, malls, shops, cafés, and other buildings. The calendars seem to show that the current date is December 25, 2014. Because of this, certain buildings, such as schools and offices, appear to be locked as they do not work on Christmas.
In the middle of the town, a church can be seen. It is possible to enter this church and fully explore the building. The church appears to be a typical 20th-century church based on its architecture. In one of the rooms of the church, one can find a door leading into the secret room. This secret room appears to be some sort of vault. Everything inside this room appeared to be made from ice. This includes the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. Despite having no light, the room is not completely dark. In the middle of this room, a two-meter-tall ice block can be seen. Inside this ice block, a woman can be seen wearing Christmas clothes. She appears to be alive, in a deep sleep, waiting for a certain event to come. As of now, no one knows if that event is going to happen or if she is even going to defrost.
Christmas songs can be heard all around the town. They seem to play out of nowhere, as wanderers are unable to find the place where they originate. The order of these songs appears to be random; however, once the clock on the church hits midnight, a famous song known as "All I want for Christmas is you" is going to start to play. During this state, it is going to begin to snow rapidly, and one will start to feel a cold breeze. The temperatures will drop from -10°C to -15°C within a few minutes and later on even to -25°C. Because of this, it is recommended to stay indoors and light up a fire in the fireplace. This event lasts for three hours. After this, the ground will be covered with at least 1 meter of snow, making it impossible to get out of there. Despite all this, heating and electricity in the buildings are still going to work, which is how the wanderers are able to survive.
When the time hits 4 a.m., wanderers will start to feel extremely tired. During this period, they will be guided to a bed, where they will sleep for around an hour. Once they wake up feeling refreshed, the 1 meter of snow will simply disappear, and the town will return to the state that it originally was. Another weird thing about the time at this level is that once the clocks hit 6:59 a.m., they will switch to instantly skip 12 hours, right to 7 p.m.It seems that on this level, the day only lasts 12 hours. Hot chocolate and other famous Christmas drinks, such as Eggnog, can be found in cafes. These drinks are completely safe for consumption, and they replenish every 6 hours. Upon drinking them, wanderers will instantly get the feeling that they are at home with their loved ones. This only happens if you take the first sip in cafes. The feeling will usually last for around a minute, and different emotions may be experienced as each wanderer seems to react differently to this effect.
The town is, in fact, extremely large. However, it is not the only area at this level. It seems that the level has two other areas. The first area is called The Field of Christmas Dreams, and the second is called The Frosted Woods. To find these areas, wanderers will need to travel for around two hours, to be exact. If they head to the south, they will end up in The Frosted Woods, but if they walk in any direction other than the south, they will stumble upon The Field of Christmas Dreams. One can tell if they are close to The Field of Christmas Dreams if they happen to see a lot of stands that sell different Christmas decorations and souvenirs. Everything at the stands appears to be labeled as free, and wanderers are free to take anything they want. After they pass these stands, they will officially reach The Field of Christmas Dreams.
The Field of Christmas Dreams
" The Field of Christmas Dreams."
The Field of Christmas Dreams appears to be a giant, snowy wasteland filled with trees that have snow and Christmas lights on them. The evergreen trees appear to have blue Christmas lights on them, while the deciduous trees have yellow lights. This area feels more like its own sublevel than an area of the level, as it is not affected by the events that happen in the town. The snow in this area is thick and, at some points, 2.5 meters deep, but there is no way to tell at which parts that is.
The sky on this part of the level appears to be grayish, and no one is certain why, although it could be due to light pollution. If one manages to get deep inside the level, they will find a tree that is bigger than the rest. This tree appears to be around 50 meters tall, and it is decorated with all the decorations that have been previously mentioned. Underneath the trees are large presents that cannot be opened. Several of these presents are overturned on the side. It is unknown if these presents are decorations or if there is something inside of them, as no one has managed to find them.
It is impossible for it to snow in this area of the level. In fact, the area appears to be warmer than the town, as the average temperature within this place is exactly 0°C. Traversing back to the town is the easy part, as all one needs to do is head back in any direction and walk for around 10 minutes. After this, they will be back at the location where they've originally started out. The level appears to play different tricks on wanderers, as sometimes they will randomly end up at the start even if they have not attended. In very rare cases, they can also randomly end up back in this area if they have already visited it.
The Frosted Woods
" The Frosted Woods"
The Frosted Woods appear to be an area that can only be accessed if you desire to do so. This is the darkest area of the level, and it seems to consist of large, 100-meter-tall trees without any leaves. The ground is mostly covered with a thin layer of snow as some holes and dirt. Small branches can be seen reaching from the ground, and some trees appear to have fallen over. Many wanderers have reported hearing strange sounds coming from these woods. One can get extremely paranoid and anxious while traversing through this place.
If you happen to come here in a group, you will split up no matter what. The level seems to randomly transport wanderers to other parts of the area. This can happen at any time, and there is no way to prevent it. Because of this, many lose orientation and are unable to return to the town. The fate of these wanderers remains unknown, but it is said that there is an exit deep inside this area that leads to a level that is safer than this one. At the moment, this cannot be confirmed.
The geography of this area appears to be mostly bumpy. If one happens to find an area that is completely flat, they might be able to find the only structure that appears within these woods. This structure has the appearance of an old cabin. From the outside, the cabin looks uninhabitable, but from the inside, it will be really cozy and warm. The cabin has three rooms. The bedroom and the living room, which also have a small kitchen and a small bathroom without a shower, A bowl of soup is placed on the table along with a spoon and a note that says "Enjoy your meal". After consumption, the wanderer will start to feel dizzy and fall asleep within minutes.
While asleep, the wanderer will have a specific dream about this level. The dream starts out simple. They will find themselves in the body of a person who lives inside the town. They will go to work as usual and later spend time with their family at The Field of Christmas Dreams. During the night, they will enter The Frosted Woods and get lost. The dream ends with a person stumbling upon an old cabin similar to this one, but it is completely destroyed on the outside. It is unknown how wanderers are able to give such a detailed explanation about the dream, but based on it, it probably has something to do with the ingredients of the soup. Regardless, it is not advised to consume the soup unless you are at the point of starvation. If one happens to return to the town after having the dream, they will still have an extreme feeling of anxiety and paranoia and constantly question if what they see is real. Some people have even returned to the woods after returning to the town, but they were never seen again.
