Level 329, also known as "The Frostbite Palace", is the 330th level of the Backrooms.
Description
Level 329 is a giant castle made of ice, with there being many floors. The main entrance/starting area of the castle is full of Facelings dressed in medieval-style clothing who, despite the bitter cold, seem to not be affected in any way. The main area also has shops selling meat and other pieces of clothing. The area is also covered in 7 feet of snow, with the bottom layer being ice. There is an entrance to the main castle, with Facelings guarding it in knight armor who will start to become hostile if one tries to enter the castle. The only way into the castle is to find a spot where no Facelings are, and to smash through the wall. However, as damaging the wall will result in the wall regenerating itself after 10 seconds, it is recommended to move through the hole as soon as possible.
The inside looks more like your modern castle, with red carpet with yellow designs and red curtains blocking the windows. Though the castle looks normal, it is still all made of ice, which is prevented from melting through an unknown means (there are torches and fireplaces within the castle, which heat it up.) The castle halls are filled with armor and weaponry on display, with some items on display being some from other levels, such as Liquid Pain bottles, a car from Level 22, and a plant from Level 5. It is still unknown how these items got here. If one explores more of the first floor of the castle they will find the dining hall full of Facelings in fancy clothes, similar to those that royalty would wear. These Facelings are not hostile unless one does an act that is "improper”, such as not having table manners, committing an act of violence, yelling or interrupting, and more. The food they serve is safe to eat, although one should avoid the drinks (which are Liquid Pain looking like Almond Water.
Wandering further down the halls of the castle will lead one to the king's throne, where a Faceling dressed like a king will be watching. Once one enters, he will begin speaking, "I know why thee is here, you have come to take thy crown of mine and have the power to rule over the land that I have claimed, well, fight me and my minions and win, or be banished to the dungeons below. The choice is yours: leave and go back home, the smart choice in my opinion, or challenge me and my army to fight for the right of the land that I own. What is thee choice thy make?" . When he asked this, one should say no and leave the castle, because saying yes will make the doors close behind the wanderer. The throne room will then be stormed by entities such as Hounds, Skin-Stealers, and more. Whether one defeats them or does not, the king will intervene and send one to the dungeon.
Floor -1
Floor -1 is called Floor -1 because all floors in this level go into the ground and not up like normal buildings. This floor of the castle can be reached by going down a stair well until you see a door labeled -1. This floor resembles a giant kitchen made of ice with by a mysterious force has working stoves and ovens. Down here are Facelings posed as chefs that cook food (mostly steak) and serve drinks to the people on floor 0 or also known as the main entrance. The food is safe to consume but never consume the drinks as they are filled with Liquid Pain that looks like Almond Water. The Facelings will keep working no matter what you do to them with all them ignoring your very presents. However never talk to them as doing so will make them hostile for no known reason.
Floor -2
Floor -2 can be reached by continuing down the stair well until you reach a door labeled -2. Floor -2 resembles a neighborhood made of ice with the wanderer entering the floor though a door exiting a house. The houses are all unenterable with all doors being frozen shut. The place the street would be is replaced with railroad tracks with when entering this floor will have a train labeled "The Frozen Express". The train is not enterable and any attempts will not work and eventually the train will ride away.
Floor -3
Floor -3 resembles a theater made of ice like the rest of this Level and can be reached by continuing down the stair well to a door that is labeled -3. When entering the theaters lights will dim and the curtains will open revealing a choir of Facelings playing carol of the bells. Interrupting the show however will make them hostile and is not recommended. However going to this floor is also not recommended as the crowd is made of Hounds, and Skin-Stealers.
The Dungeon
A photo of the dungeon in this level.
The dungeon can be accessed by failing the kings challenge, falling through the floor on ice that's very thin, or going down a set of stairs found on floor one and going to the very bottom. The dungeon is very cold reaching temperatures of -89 degrees Fahrenheit, where most people will probably freeze to death without any source of warmth, so if one wishes to venture down to the dungeon bring a torch, jacket, heater, or other sources of heat. The dungeon looks like a prison but with each cell roof looking like the roof of a igloo. The cell is composed of a bench, and an area to go to the bathroom. Skeletal remains of Facelings and other wanderers can be found in these cells, which could have died from frostbite or hypothermia. The halls of the dungeon look similar to the halls of the first floor but with no decorations just icy hallways with the Windows entity looking into snow and ice making it near impossible to escape by digging. There are Facelings and other entities wandering the halls of the dungeons acting as guards. Escaping the dungeons are very hard and that is because of this fact that going here is not recommended. There are signs that there was a way to stay warm down here as there are burnt out torches on the walls of the dungeon. One wanderer has claimed they found a hidden exit by breaking one of the walls in there cell that lead to the surface, although this is not confirmed. There is a recovered note that was left by a wanderers remains that was found and documented.
Recovered Note:
I'm So Cold
I had everything I needed, a gun, Almond Water, and supplies, but when I faced the king my gun did nothing. I was weak compared to them, they overpowered me in seconds, I heard the kings whistle to stop, I watched as the entities left me on the ground, barely breathing, I heard what sounded like a lever being pulled, I fell, and landed on ice, I think I broke my back, I found I was in a cell, the one you're probably reading this in, It was so cold, I'm writing this as my goodbye, I can feel the cold getting to me, as I see a Skin-Stealer watch me write this, to make sure I don't escape, well I feel nothing now, I'm so cold, goodbye world, wherever I go after death, I hope It's better than the backrooms.
The Forest
A photo of Levels 329's forest.
The Forest is a forest full of Lanterns, lighting the forest in a soft white glow. There is no set direction in this part of Level 329, with there being no clear path or way of knowing what direction to travel. The forest in this Level appears to be infinite, however there has been one report of a wanderer finding a wall made of ice, what seemed like it goes on for an infinite distance. The forest can be located outside of the kingdom when one exits the front gates. The trees are also made of ice like the rest of the Level the forest is one of is not the most dangerous place in this Level, reaching temperatures of -158 degrees Fahrenheit, this happens when one stays in the forest for an hour an event called "Frostbite Blizzard" will come and shroud the forest in a very cold blanket of snow, it is dangerous for both wanderers and entities, as frozen entities have been found covered in layers of snow. Once one exits the kingdom, the castle will then be covered from sight in a wind of snow when the wind stops the castle will be replaced with trees and you will be stuck in the forest. After 30 minutes in the forest all lanterns will burn out and the forest will then be pitch dark and the descend into a winter wonderland as the last 30 minutes of the hour ends and the "Frostbite Blizzard" event starts. There are a few reports of seeing a cottage with it's lights on and there is one report of a wanderer making it and entering the cottage. They said the cottage has a fireplace that is lit with a very docile Faceling that let him inside and gave him hot cocoa, all of this is neither confirmed nor debunked. A frozen lake can be found in the forest, with there being a dock with a beaten up wooden boat that has been frozen into the lake and can not be moved, there is a cooler full of rotten fish, that even though expired can be eaten and not be poisoned, though it doesn't have that much nutritional value.
The Village
A photo of the village.
The village is located outside of the main castle with a secondary wall made of ice surrounding the village. There are Facelings roaming the village with other entities that wander the village with them but they aren't as docile as the Facelings and will attack on sight. These include Hounds, and Skin-Stealers. The inside of the houses look like houses that were built in the 2010's with there being a TV, coach, and other 2010 era objects. The inside of the houses are for some unknown reason not made of ice however if you enter a house any nearby Facelings will become hostile and start attacking the wanderers, so entering the houses is not recommended.
