SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class 1
- {$one}
- {$two}
- {$three}
Level 351 is the 352nd level of the Backrooms.
Description
An image of Level 351, displaying many pillars as well as the glowing indigo lights found in the level, with a escalator to the left. A wide passageway is visible in the distance, shining bright gold hues with its marvelous chandeliers; this hall led into Level 5.
Level 351 has the appearance of an expansive series of rooms, with architecture and decorations resembling a modern casino; the Level is predominantly illuminated by neon lights which glow various shades of purple, as well as having lavish carpets and intricate designs across the walls and ceilings. While the Level's structure is labyrinthine in nature, it shows no signs of having any non-euclidean or non-linear properties, thus making navigation relatively easy. Different floors of Level 351 can be accessed via neon escalators and elevators, which are sparsely dispersed throughout the Level. The various stories of Level 351 exhibit little to no major deviations in terms of appearance and design, though it has been noted that lower floors typically have lower light levels than higher floors; it is also unclear as to just how many floors the level actually possesses, as the amount of stories seems to fluctuate at times. Windows are present in Level 351 to some extent, though they are rare and should be approached with caution as they are often Window entities.
Strangely, despite Level 351 having the appearance of a casino, it contains little to no slot machines or other objects commonly used for gambling; additionally, those that do exist within the Level are frequently dysfunctional, damaged, or otherwise unusable. While these commodities are rarer, the Level is not entirely empty, as random furniture and other objects are scattered throughout the level in large amounts; these mostly consist of various benches, as well as rare rows of tables and chairs accompanied by a plethora of snacks and beverages, typically contained within vast food courts found in select areas of Level 351. Pillars are also a frequent occurrence within Level 351, possibly being the most common feature of the Level; these are absentmindedly placed throughout the level in odd formations, often blocking paths or creating entirely new ones, weaving mazes of purposeless architecture within an endless, desolate space.
As stated previously, food courts can often be discovered in certain sections of Level 351, with no definitive pattern to their distribution, closely following the same architectural principles and stylizations of the rest of the level; however, despite resembling typical rooms of Level 351 at first glance, these chambers possess many more intricate details and structures than the level's casino. The usual carpet is instead replaced with marble tile, as is expected from a usual food court, though the lights also glow a much wider range of colors, including deep blues, vibrant greens, and shining pinks.
Entities
In terms of entities, there have seldom been any significant reports or sightings, to the point that for seven years after it's discovery, it was designated as Class 0 in the database. While many different types of entities are theorized to live in Level 351, the only ones to have been confirmed are Windows, as said earlier. While not verified, accounts of Anethikas are relatively common when compared to other reports; several sightings of Partygoers have also been confirmed but it is unknown if they still inhabit the level.
For now, Level 351 is thought to be nearly completely devoid of native life, and has been given the Class 1 status until any substantial evidence can be presented as to it being more dangerous than it is currently understood and believed to be.
Colonies and Outposts
Level 351 has, and still continues to have, a rich history of many communities that inhabited it's empty, senseless corridors; the most likely reason for the myriad of settlements within the level is it's abundance of useful resources and primarily safe environment. The two most important settlements have been listed below, as all others are either too small or have very little documentation gathered on them to make a substantial impact on this page.
M.E.G. (a.k.a. the "Major Explorer Group") Base Midas:
Widely considered the first colony to have been established on Level 351, Base Midas is a relatively large outpost of the M.E.G. initially created by ~30 people who had completed one of the first full expeditions into Level 351 in April of 2002. The base specializes in recruiting and assisting wanderers who find themselves within Level 351, as well as carrying out various journeys into neighboring levels, those being Level 352 and Level 350, to help wanderers in need of resources as well as gaining more supplies to bring back to the base. It has grown at a steady rate since it's founding nearly two decades ago,1 gaining approximately 155 members, with many more leaving, rejoining, and moving to other outposts of the M.E.G.
Team Vegas
Team Vegas is a prominent and well-known colony residing permanently on Level 351 with records of their existence going all the way back to 2005. When compared to other similar groups, they are relatively small in terms of population, averaging at about 80 people. Their society frequently glorifies gambling and promotes a lifestyle of risk, chances, and greed, indulging in and embracing their casino home and it's naturally occurring objects.
Entrances and Exits
Level 351, alongside it's peaceful nature and high population, often serves as a nexus to and from other levels throughout the entirety of the Backrooms, creating high chances for both wanderer meetings as well as many easy escape routes. Both the ins and outs of the level have been listed here, in numerical order; additionally, more entrances and exits are always being discovered, meaning the list is subject to frequent updates.
