SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class 5
- {$one}
- {$two}
- {$three}
Level 414 is the 415th level of the Backrooms, being a complex of rooms and halls completely infested with blue and white mold.
Description:
Level 414 appears as a complex of dark, blue concrete rooms covered in a fuzzy, fungus-like material. Mushrooms spout out of many of the walls and floors, with some hallways being completely obscured by these mushrooms. The level has many floors, each of which can be accessed via a universal staircase. Each floor is estimated to go on for eight (8) square miles, and are numbered from 1-100. Upon entering this level, you will begin on the first floor.
The most dangerous part of this level is the large amounts of fungal growths found on both the walls, floor, and ceiling. Specimens of multiple infectious diseases - including the Crawler Fungus - can be traced almost everywhere within the level, and are almost always of fungal nature. Many of these diseases are undocumented and have been proven to be fatal after prolonged exposure. It is advised to cover any orifices with a thick cloth or preferably a gas mask.
On the 25th floor, a hospital receptionist desk can be found. This desk typically has 2-3 Facelings working behind it, which appear to be unresponsive. Behind this receptionist desk are a set of cabinets and shelves with doctor’s equipment; including used syringes and other surgical tools. This area is regarded as a sort of safe zone, however staying here for prolonged periods of time is not recommended. There are also a few outposts set up in this area, however it is unknown if they will last for much longer.
Message - 2/10/2026:
Sigh…
After all the testing and various studies we’ve done, I’m starting to think there’s no saving to this place. The other day a creature had attacked us. It was something I’ve never seen before, and it looked to be entirely made out of mold. No, it wasn’t one of those Crawlers, it was something else. It was a bluish-white color, and was completely fuzzy. We tried killing it, but no matter how much we sliced its body, the parts kept moving. We eventually had to scoop up the pieces and dispose of them somewhere else.
All of this makes me worried about how this will affect the rest of the Backrooms. If a new type of entity started to emerge, making the Backrooms even more dangerous than it already is, how would we stop it? That’s what we’ve been trying to do here, keeping the mold at bay, but I don’t know how much longer we can do this. It’s…it’s getting stronger. The fungus is starting to have a mind of its own, it’s evolving at a rapid pace.
I hope that whoever sees this can bring help, because we surely need it down here.
Conclusion: Following the release of this message, the M.E.G. has done investigation on the properties of Level 414, hoping to further put the mold growth at bay.
Colonies and Outposts
The Mold Researchers:
These are a group of people living on the 25th floor of the complex, being a group of scientists who study the mold on the level. They have since conjoined their operations with the M.E.G. to further study the properties of Level 414.
Entrances and Exits:
To enter this level, you must no-clip through a large colony of mold. To exit, you must go up the staircase until you reach the top floor, in which you will be taken to Level 455.
