Level 898 is the 899th Level of the Backrooms.

Description:

Level 898 takes appearance as a distorted, abandoned space-like station. The floor in this level is made of some kind of hydraulics or tubes, with walls made of greyish scraps and wired electric current. the level itself is infinite and looks decayed. Flickering-broken lights, and the glimpse of electrical current are the only light source in this level, so this level is really dark.
The hallways in this level are really wide, with spacelike-damp atmosphere. You can find a container, capsules, or toolbox shattered on this level, they contains almond water and other goods.
This level looks more decayed overtime you stay in this level, into the point where the level is just a glimpse of distortion and currents, in this part where you cant exit or die in this level.
Sometimes, sound of tears or scream echoing in this level, although no found sources of the sound, most likely it comes from unknown entities wander oround this level.


This level itself is broken and alone,

but they have seen some distortion on you, and still looking for nonsense hope. Its all your fault for entering their place, but somehow they dont want us to leave

No entities found in this level, but possibly some anomalous entity roam around the level

The truth

The Fragmented

The fragmented take appearance as a dark humanoid entity with only facial structure and body without limbs. Similiar to entity 18, The Fragmented was also human. They'are stuck in this level and merge with Level 898. They hide in the deepest shadow of Level 898. They wander around the level like a ghost, often stalk visitors.
The fragmentation divided to 4 phase:

First phase

Visitors first enter the level are still act like a human

Second phase

Some part of your body look out of place, vision start to darken and decayed

Third phase

More and more on your body, vision start to contrast and more darken, and the level becomes more decayed onto a glimpse of distortion

Fourth phase

Visitors will feel a migraine, as their soul slowly separated from their body, they will start to see another visitor who has the same fate as them.

Final phase

Visitor will completely merge into the level as a wandering soul, their body will no-clip into level 7, level 599, or the void

There are no known Colonies or Outposts on this level

The only entrances is via entering a door labelled "HOPE" in Level 703

Exits

Hopeless and fragmented, fade into the distortion

There is an exit at the fourth phase, find a grey metal door that leads to level 71, but survivors will suffer from heavy mental illness, as the distortion on their body is permanent
