Level -303 is the 304rd negative level of the Backrooms.
Description
Level -303 is a series of 3 zones, all grouped together into one negative level. Occasionally, Level -303 will shift in perspective, sending you to any of the 3 zones. Level -303 currently is one of the most unknown levels in the Backrooms, due to only a few people successfully exiting the level. The 3 zones are listed below.
Zone 1: "The Beginning"
SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class Ψ
- Unsafe
- Unsecure
- Mental Hazard
Zone 1 of Level -303 is a network of claustrophobic hallways where the sense of space and direction is greatly distorted, which creates an optical illusion. All forms of devices in Zone 1, such as compasses, GPS’s, and phones are completely disabled. Trying to use a compass results in it spinning everywhere, GPS’s simply become a part of Zone 1, and trying to use a device with a screen just results in the screen showing a series of glitches. Zone 1 is arguably the most dangerous section of Level -303, due to the high risk of death.
Zone 1 of Level -303 is speculated to be infinite, and due to the extreme distortion of space, and the illusion of vision, the walls that appear to be impenetrable can be accessed by either going through another area, or by no-clipping. Zone 1 is where the perspective shifts are the most common. At times, one may randomly get stuck in a “ceiling”, and they will be sent to another area of Zone 1, abliet stuck in the ground. Getting out of the ground is done by slamming the ground as hard as you can.
Zone 1’s color distribution is uneven. Various constantly changing colors are all over the walls, ceilings, floors, and some glitches are just randomly floating. In addition to this, doors can be found, but they are also affected by the uneven color distribution. Some corridors in Zone 1 appear to have some sort of greater concentration of colors, and the risk of death is more high in these corridors. These kinds of corridors also have various no-clip zones to Zone 2.
Various glitched versions of common entities appear in Zone 1 of Level -303. These entities include, but are not limited to: Clumps, Death Rats, and Lighters.
Entering Zone 1 is done by using a universal entry point to Level -303. It can also be entered when a perspective shift occurs in Zone 2 or Zone [ERROR]. To exit Zone 1, one must travel through the zone westwards, or no-clip through a wall in the corridors with greater color concentration. This will bring you to Zone 2. Zone 1 can also be exited when the perspective shift happens, sending you to either Zone 2, or Zone [ERROR].
Zone 2: "Second Glitch"
SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class Ψ
- Unsafe
- Unsecure
- Mental Hazard
Zone 2 of Level -303 resembles Zone 1, abliet much more glitched and distorted. Unlike Zone 1, Zone 2’s layout is not consistent between wanderers, due to being randomly generated. Zone 2’s hallways are much less claustrophobic, and are more “open”. Zone 2 is arguably the safest zone of Level -303, due to being devoid of entities. However, the colors of Zone 2 may cause wanderers to go insane. Zone 2 is also known for containing 2 buildings.
The first building of Zone 2 appears to be a glitched copy of Level 188. The Windows have been replaced with yellow fluorescent lights emitting a loud buzzing sound that could result in eardrum damage. This. however, can be countered simply by using noise-cancelling headphones. Separating Building 1 and Building 2 is The Void, since Level -303 and The Void are both connected.
The second building of Zone 2 appears to be a glitched residential building. The windows and walls of Building 2 are replaced with pitch-black voids, and simply touching them will send a wanderer to The Void. Entities are rare, but they can be encountered in the second building. Outside of Building 2 is some sort of infinite balcony. Going far enough on this balcony will send a wanderer back to Zone 1.
Traveling through Zone 1 westwards, or no-clipping through some of the walls in corridors with greater color concentration sends you to Zone 2. Perspective shifts can also send one to Zone 2 if they were in Zone 1 or Zone [ERROR]. Exiting Zone 2 is done by smashing one of Building 1’s fluorescent lights. This will send you to Zone [ERROR]. Perspective shifts will also send you to Zone 1 or Zone [ERROR].
Zone [ERROR]: “We’re Sorry! An error has occurred.”
SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class unknown
- {$one}
- {$two}
- {$three}
Zone [ERROR] is the final zone of Level -303. The zone is highly unknown, due to very few wanderers entering Zone [ERROR], and successfully surviving the zone to tell the tale. However, one of Level -303’s survivors, Mark Wolfgang, has provided a description of the zone.
According to Mark’s description, Zone [ERROR] appears to be similar to Zone 1, abliet much more claustrophobic. In addition, Zone [ERROR] is far more glitched than the previous sections of Level -303. The entities from Zone 1 also return, but they appear far more glitched. If one gets attacked by these entities, they will be sent to The Void.

Additional Content
A singular note was written by one of the few survivors of Level -303, and were accidentally left in Level 6.1. These notes are listed below.
What the heck is this place? So basically, I actually managed to exit that stupid weird hallway. However, I then ended up in this series of hallways full of glitches. The hallways being tight isn’t making anything better, since I have claustrophobia. The only saving grace is that today’s Christmas. I don’t really think I have much time, so goodbye.
Entrances And Exits
Entrances
- Entering Level -303 is done by going through a door in Level -1.
- Dying by yourself at Level -22 have small chance to send here.
Exits
While entering Level -303 is only somewhat difficult, exiting the level is an absolute nightmare. According to the few survivors of Level -303, they have described exiting the level as “a game of luck”. Your only hope of exiting is by having a perspective shift send you to a random level. Another exit has been documented, which is that staying in this level for too long sends you to The Void.
