Level ζ (Pronunciation: Zeta) is the 6th Hellenic level of the Backrooms, being one of the most dangerous of them due to a variety of mainly environmental factors.

Description:

Level ζ is a sprawling complex of metal catwalk-like bridges surrounded by tangled servers that defy typical architecture and elevation, having no established ground floor or ceiling. Allowing for easy access between different areas are stairways and balconies of varying length and size.

Darkness is prevalent throughout Level ζ, only being illuminated by the server lights which glow a variety of colors from deep reds to bright greens and blues. A faint smell of metal, blood, and burning plastic shrouds the area, as well as smoke that emits from the overheating machinery. The atmosphere is warm and humid, with a temperature that typically lies at 92°F (~33°C).

Various environmental dangers make traversing Level ζ difficult. Bridges can be unsteady and prone to collapsing, along with exposed wiring and server parts that can easily catch fire. Whatever you do, it is advised not to interact with any servers as they can easily cause severe burns or electrocution if not handled properly. Any loose clothing or hair should also be met with caution. Adding on to this danger, many people experience rapid declines in mental health, which is typically caused by a variety of factors, including the immense darkness of some rooms, as well as the overstimulating factors of the environment such as the heat, humidity, and smell.

Occasionally, one may come across small server rooms well-lit by fluorescent lights. These rooms are messy and obscured by large amounts of wires and old computer parts. One wrong step in one of these rooms can lead to getting yourself electrocuted by exposed wiring, or worse, the entire room set on fire. Some areas in the complex are completely made out of wires, which can easily be fallen through if one is not careful.

There have been three (3) confirmed reports of wanderers entering Level ζ, most of them stumbling here by accident. Below is each report detailing the level:

Entrances and Exits:

Entrances:
  • The most common entrance to Level ζ takes the appearance of a metallic door located within Level ε's dungeon.
  • It is also said that there is another entrance at one of Level ε's edges.
  • This door can also manifest itself on Level 6, Level 15, Level 109, and Level 70.
Exits:
  • Finding a door can lead to either Level η or Level κ.
  • Tripping on a wire and into the void without hitting a single object is rumored to transport travelers to Level 6, though this is not advised.
